We are very excited that the BCP has got through to the next stage of funding and support for two of our proposed projects for the Horsham District Year of Culture although we won’t know for definite if we’ve been successful until end of March.

The two projects being considered are:
1. A children’s Lantern Procession to follow on from the Billifest Christmas Fair in December 2019
2. A drama project working with young people about local Sussex stories which would culminate in an open air performance at Lark in the Park in July 2019.

Still early days, and I will update when I have more news.
If you would like to get involved in either of these projects please contact me via the website.

Horsham District council have decided that 2019 will be a year of Culture for the District! The aim is that there will be a year of cultural events and activities throughout the year organised by and celebrated within communities.

The BCP is keen to get as many Billingshurst clubs, groups and organisations that have cultural, historic or artistic interests to get involved in making a programme of events and activities for Billingsshurst for the whole year. The BCP are hosting an mini launch event on Thursday 7th December at the Unitarian Hall in Billingshurst at 7pm with a preview of a specially made film to encourage communities to get involved.

This is a great opportunity to tap into funding and get support to run activities and events that you might otherwise think impossible for your club.

The BCP has already registered an interest in a number of events they would like to develop and support. If you would like to register an interest in funding for something, come along and find out more. You can also visit the Year of Culture Website at www.hdculture2019.co.uk
